Thrillist is a digital media and parent clothing company in NYC. Their offices are in the heart of Soho, where employees go out for lunch and bring back food in containers, ultimately throwing all of the packaging and leftovers away as waste. Unfortunately, at the time, NYC did, and still does not have a hauling service that is reliable for composting and recycling. Thrillist turned to me to find a waste management system, bringing them varying financial and service options.
I handed off ways to for Thrillist to get started with composting using local compost hauling services, and a lower cost option of bringing compost to nearby facilities, like as done by companies like Etsy.
Mother of Pearl is known for their speciality cocktails and experiential food. Turning vegan, they wanted to be known for their sustainable practices too. I spent a month observing systems of the space, workflow, and facilities. After researching more sustainable alternatives to unsustainable practices found through this observation and I presented the most cost-effective solutions to client, ensuring the staff were on board, and could be onboarded with new practices.
