MOVE Series
Graffiti has many similarities to the Futurism movement — bringing dynamism to letters, incorporating trains in motion, positioning itself as a rebellion against the status quo, ....
I have always felt connected to both. Now, the two have inspired me simultaneously. I dreamt of a figure much like Boccioni's 'Unique Forms of Continuity in Space', but expressed through the style of graffiti I absorbed while street posting through the years.
This body of work started there, and has grown into a life of its own. The canvas, paints, aerosols and I move in concert to create a figurative subject that blends us as one (a vision the era of Futurism would appreciate, I think).
